*Amazing doctrinal note: "monogenous". The American Heritage Dictionary defines this word as

1) The theory that all living organisms are descended from a single cell or organism.

2) Asexual reproduction, as by sporulation [by spores].

Science uses this word in terms of Evolution, but here the Scripture use this word to denote that God did not have sex with Mary, that Jesus came directly out of the Father, and that Jesus is the only one to have been born from the Father in this fashion. Science has blindly claimed that all life comes from a one celled organism, when in fact they missed the truth that life comes from one Being - the Father - not a cell.

 

1:15

John bare witness of him, and cried, saying,

"This was he of whom I spake, 'He that cometh after me

is preferred before me: for he was before me.'"

NOTE: "That Prophet" which the priests and Levites were refering to is the Prophet whom Moses prophesied in Deuteronomy 18:15, "The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto Him ye shall hearken…And the Lord said unto me… I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak unto them all that I shall command Him. And it shall come to pass that whosoever will not hearken unto My words which He shall speak in My name, I will require it of him!" Little did they know that the Prophet Moses spoke of was the Messiah Himself.

 

1:22

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

ειπον ουν αυτω τις ει ινα αποκρισιν δωμεν τοις πεμψασιν ημας τι λεγεις περι σεαυτου
